When it comes to writing your toast sometimes it is best to use examples of professionally written best man speeches.

For me, when I had to write my best man speech, I was very nervous and anxious but I didn’t want to run it past the groom because I wanted it to be a surprise on his wedding day. However, I did have a chat with him to make sure I knew what topics I could joke about and what I should avoid.

I am not really naturally funny. Like anyone I can tell a joke and have my moments but to be honest having to deliver a speech that would last a few minutes and pack it full of funny content terrified me.

I knew that I had to get some help with my speech so I scoured the internet for best man wedding speeches examples. There are a ton of free best man speeches online that you can use for ideas. However, be careful when you use free resources because I saw quite a few videos where the bestman speeches were almost identical and they all got there material from the same free stuff I had been looking at!

My Best Man Speech

With a lot of help I did manage to write and deliver a pretty funny best man speech which everyone enjoyed. I had people telling me how much they enjoyed throughout the night.

My bestman wedding speech was really the result of using best man speeches examples and taking bits and pieces from the professionally produced ones. When I added my own bits to them and dates and places that were relevant to the groom I made the story sound unique.

I did the same thing with the jokes and no-one knew that the situations and stories I was telling where actually taken from other sources and just changes to suit my needs.

The use of humour in my own bestman speech allowed me to hold the attention of the guests. Being funny really helped me lead the wedding party from the formal part of the day into the informal (and more enjoyable) part.

By using humour to tell the story of the groom, and my connection to him, I was able to help the groom and the bride relax as well.

Although you do need to tell the guests a few things about the groom and lead them on a bit of an emotional journey interrupting that flow with a few well timed jokes really helps not only everyone listening to relax but it also help you to relax.

When it comes to bestman wedding speeches it is also to try to be informal when you speak to the guests. Remember you are talking to family and friend snot giving a lecture at a university campus.

When you view your speech as a sort of informal talk with friends it really helps you to relax and flow with what you are saying.

Remember that everyone else who has to give wedding speeches is just as nervous as you and although best man speeches are often viewed as the most important don’t think that the other speakers are any less anxious than you are.

If you have recently been asked to be the best man at your friend’s wedding then you know how mixed your emotions can be. Yes, there is no question that it is an honour and a privilege to be bestman but the role also comes with a great deal of responsibility.

After you have organised the stag night and help arrange the suits, cars and a multitude of other things for the wedding you then have to think about your bestman toast.

This is by far the most frustrating and nerve-wrecking aspect of the best man’s role. Most people expect to hear a funny bestman speech but what if you’re not naturally funny?

The guest will also expect you to be entertaining but what of you choke in front of crowds?

You will also be expected to tell stories about the groom and also inform everyone how the groom and bride met (usually in a funny and entertaining way).

Now odds are in favour of the fact that the majority of the guest will have been to other weddings. It is likely that they have heard their fair share of bestman speeches and will no doubt compare your bestman speech to every other one they have ever heard. So how do you write a killer bestman wedding toast that will be remembered for years after the wedding?

Well, here are a few tips.

1. Prepare yourself.
Make a list of important events that relate to you and the groom – especially when you met. Make a list of special events or times that you both shared together especially if they are entertaining and finny. Gather some facts about the groom and bride.

2. Don’t worry about the grooms toast or father of the groom toast (or any of the other speeches for that matter) just concentrate on your own. Many people get caught up thinking they should not mention this or avoid mentioning that because it will be talked about in another speech – just worry about your speech!

3. Get examples of other bestman toasts and use them for inspiration. You can take small portions of a really good speech that you find and incorporate it into your own. By changing names, dates and places you can even tell a funny story as though it had actually happened to you.

Follow the above three simple steps and you will be well on your way to writing a great bestman speech that will be remembered fro a long time to come.

I know just as well as anyone else who has been asked to give a best man speech that it is a frightening proposition! Although it feels great to be asked to take on such an important role it is also a scary thing to do.

Apart from arranging the stag night (which let’s face it is the best part), the duties of a bestman are not straight forward and simple. Sometimes it feels like you are responsible for the entire wedding!

However, by far the scariest thing about the role is the bestman toast. When I first tried to write my best man wedding speech I just didn’t know where to start. I knew I would have to deliver a funny best man speech because John and Tara would expect it (and so would all of the guests).

I have to be honest it was one of the most nervous times of my life. I never even felt as nervous giving my groom wedding speech at my wedding!

Luckily though, I did not fall into the trap that most guys fall into – not planning ahead. I started to write my bestman wedding speech as soon as I was given the honour of being John’s best man. Most guys leave it too late.

In the beginning it was difficult and the one guy I would normally turn to for help in situations like that was the one guy I couldn’t ask for help – the groom! It felt like I was on my own.

Then I realised that I could use the internet to find free bestman speeches. I looked for days on end and eventually got some good stuff I could use. However, when I watched a few YouTube videos for more inspiration I was shocked (“horrified” is a better word) to hear my speech being used by several other guys. It was disastrous. My advice is to never use a free bestman speech.

After that I just used whatever best man speeches I could find as examples for writing my own. I must admit that using other people’s bestman wedding speeches is the best way to develop a good speech of your own.

You can get lots of ideas and even a good few jokes. Simply by changing some of the details and adding in bits and pieces yourself you can make a really funny story your own. By far this is the best way to create a best man’s speech that everyone will love and remember for a long time to come.

Preparing for a toast by scouring through countless best man speeches can be boring and frustrating but that was my starting point when John asked me to be his best man!

I sort of guessed that when my buddy John got married I would have to write a funny best man speech. You see John is a bit of a comedian and he makes me and all our friends laugh. He loves to party and appreciates the fun things in life.

He has always been a great friend to me and has helped me out of numerous jams and even introduced me to my wife Deborah. In fact when Debs and I got hitched John was my best man and he gave such a great speech that people still talk about it today, especially whenever my wife mentions our wedding day.

As far as best man wedding speeches go John’s was one of the best I ever heard. I must confess that because of that fact and because John is such a close friend I was very anxious about writing my bestman wedding speech.

I began by reading over other people’s best man speeches and even tried to use some copyright free bestman speeches. I was doing well until one day I decided to watch a few YouTube videos for added inspiration and was horrified to find two videos that, between, seemed to be using all my speech!

I learned a valuable lesson that day – never use a free best man speech!

I had worked for weeks on that damned speech and now it was all for nothing. I was so shook up by the incident that I scraped the whole speech and started again from scratch. Even the jokes I had taken from other funny bestman speeches got binned!
